Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
The Too Faced Born This Way Foundation has been one of the most hyped complexion releases in recent months. I couldn't wait to get my mitts on this stuff! Reading the product description and many reviews from the US before it came to the UK, I read that the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation promises to be the ultimate skin perfector, and is appropriate for all skin types.

After testing this for two weeks or so, I have a few thoughts!

So this is an overall good foundation with so many good points that outweigh any negative things i noticed about it! It has really great coverage, its the first thing I noticed on application. Its thick without feeling oily and heavy, its much more serum/gel-like in texture. Due to the texture I found it not to go cakey on my dry/dehydrated skin type which is always a really good find for me in a foundation as there are so many that go cakey for me halfway through the day! Something else I found with this foundation is that the colour in the bottle is true on the face, it doesn't oxidise like crazy so it means the colour you see swatched is the colour you will get. In particular I think this will work beautifully on an oilier skin texture, as its semi-matte it will give an oilier skin a fresh 'this is just my skin' look which is exactly how its marketed - for you to look like you were born with perfect skin.

There are only a couple of downers for me personally and that's only down to my skin type and personal preference of how I like my foundation to look. One of the things I noticed after wearing it for 5+ hours, is that it hadn't melted seamlessly into my skin like something another semi-matte foundation (like Dior forever) would do. I think this could be for one of two reasons, that my skin is just not oily enough so the foundation clings to the dry top layer, or that its an oil free foundation. I'm going to wear this in the summer when my skin is slightly oilier and see how it works on my skin then. Also because of the tackiness of the formula when its set onto the face I found I had to set it with powder otherwise it would transfer quite easily when it touched my face.

Other than those two point I really enjoyed using this foundation and will continue to do so. Especially in summer, I think this will be my go-to full coverage foundation in the warmer months.

Have you tried Too Faced Born This Way Foundation? What are your thoughts?
