6 Great Pieces of Inspirational Advice

When I was at my course the other night, I got totally inspired to write this post. The course leader comes out with so many different quotes and bits of wisdom its hard for one to stick, but I heard one that I wanted to share. I also wanted to include a few more bits of advice i've been given in my humble 24 years that will hopefully inspire you throughout the weekend.

"You simply don't miss out on an opportunity, it was just given to the next person in the queue"

I know what you're thinking, there's a queue?! This has really stayed with me. In the blogging world, with so many opportunities to compare yourselves to others, its very hard to feel like you're not missing out when you don't go to an event, get sent a product or get acknowledged by that brand. It just went to the person in front of you in the queue, they'd been waiting a bit longer, you will get your turn.

"When making a decision, always consider the option - what would happen if i did nothing?"

This taught me that no matter what, you don't have to instantly react. You can apply this to emotions, big work decisions, a hard choice you have to make. What would happen if you did nothing? If the consequences aren't life or death, do nothing right now. Take your time, and a breath.

“If you don’t have passion, then you have nothing. If you don’t believe in what you are doing, why would anyone else?”

When I talk about make-up, filmmaking or writing, its like the whole world floats away. People listen to me with intention and want to know more. It's because I speak with true passion and love, and people will always respond back to true passion positively. Keep that fire in your belly for what you truly love to do in life.

"Work Hard & Be Kind"

This is practically a mantra for me now. I repeat this to myself every day. I always treat people with the utmost kindness, no matter what. You never know what kind of a battle they are fighting that you don't see. Work hard is self explanatory. To work hard and be kind in the process can pave the way to great success. You will also be happy in the knowledge that you have been kind to everyone on the way up.

“You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, but there will always be someone who hates peaches.”

You are only human, with all your wonderful flaws, and there will always be someone who doesn't agree with what you are doing. You have to remember its just because they don't like peaches. Not you. Think of the peaches my friends.

"No is the end of the conversation, not the start of a negotiation"

Remember that your word is your bond. When you say no, thats okay and remember that you saying no is the end of the discussion. People always this no is the start of negotiation, especially when someone wants you to do something for free. No means no, and thats perfectly fine. Never feel bad for sticking to your guns.

What's the best bit of advice you've ever been given? Let me know down below!
